Boston College has named Scott Cann, former director of Information Services Customer Services at Northeastern University, as technology director of Information Technology Support Services.

Prior to Northeastern, Cann led IT customer service at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Lincoln Library.

“Scott brings a very strong background in higher education technology services,” said Vice President of Information Technology Services Michael Bourque. “He will be a great addition in our efforts to support the faculty, staff, and students.”

Cann oversees several IT support teams, including technology consultants and computing support services, research services, media technology services, and technology implementation and communication. He described these offices as essential in making the Boston College technology experience a positive one for the University community.

“I feel very fortunate to be a part of what is a well-regarded and solid Information Technology organization,” Cann said. “I love this job, in particular, because of the sense of purpose in serving an academic community and the reward in serving my staff.”
