Graduation may seem light years away, but it’s never too early to start thinking about what’s next. Every year, the Career Center offers Endeavor, a free, three-day career exploration program designed to help BC sophomores and juniors match their skills and interests with potential career paths. Registration is open now for the 2020 program, which will be held January 8-10 on the BC campus.
Here are five reasons not to miss it:
1. The numbers don’t lie. Endeavor will help you discover your career path—but don’t just take our word for it. Ninety-six percent of students who participated in the program last year said they left knowing at least one career they were interested in further exploring.
2. You’ll get first-hand insight. What better way to learn about an industry than by hearing from someone who’s worked in it? More than 80 MCAS alumni from a variety of fields will be returning to Endeavor this year to participate in career panels and networking events. Their experiences can help you figure out if the profession you’re interested in is a good fit for you.
3. Your peers will be there. In addition to alumni and Career Center mentors, more than 30 BC students who have been through the program will return this year as Endeavor Fellows. They’ll be able to identify with your experience and can offer support both during and after the event.
4. You’ll be inspired. This year’s keynote speaker is Grace Zuncic '05, the chief people and culture officer for Chobani, who used her B.A. in philosophy and political science to help develop industry-leading initiatives in parental leave, community responsibility, and inclusion and diversity.
5. Gain access to top companies. Visit the broadcast booth at WGBH or peek into lawmakers’ offices at the Massachusetts State House during career treks to job sites in the Boston area. Past destinations have included the Boston Red Sox, Boston Children's Hospital, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Trip Advisor, Goodwin Proctor LLC, Liberty Mutual, and State Street.
