University Health Services reported a total of 43 positive cases to close out the 14th week of testing (November 30 - December 6) including 37 undergrads, out of 8,630 tests conducted. The University’s weekly community positivity rate is 0.49%. The state’s weekly community positivity rate is 5.9%.

Currently, there are 39 BC undergraduates in isolation—23 in University isolation housing and 16 recovering at home. A total of 377 undergraduates have recovered and returned to normal activities.

Since testing began on August 16, University Health Services has conducted 124,844 tests of BC community members with 442 positive cases reported. Among undergrads, UHS has conducted 92,528 tests with 416 positives. The University’s cumulative positivity rate is 0.35%.

By comparison, Boston University has reported 574 positive cases, Northeastern University 478, University of Massachusetts-Amherst 476, and the University of Notre Dame 1,814.

According to the Thanksgiving Travel Survey issued to BC students, approximately half of the BC undergraduate population chose to return to their home state for Thanksgiving and complete their remaining classes and final exams remotely, while half chose to remain in state and complete the remainder of the semester on campus.  

All campus residence halls will close for the semester on the last day of exams, scheduled for December 21, and will reopen at the start of the second semester on January 28. All students, faculty, and staff who plan to be on campus during the spring semester must be tested before classes resume.
