University Health Services reported a total of 41 positive cases at the end of the 14th week of testing (Nov 30 - Dec 6) including 35 undergrads, out of 8,085 tests conducted. The University’s weekly community positivity rate is 0.50%. The state’s weekly community positivity rate is 5.3%.

Currently, there are 54 BC undergraduates in isolation—36 in University isolation housing and 18 recovering at home. A total of 360 undergraduates have recovered and returned to normal activities.

Since testing began on August 16, University Health Services has conducted 124,340 tests of BC community members with 440 positive cases reported. Among undergrads, UHS has conducted 92,175 tests with 414 positives. The University’s cumulative positivity rate is 0.35%.

By comparison, Boston University has reported 542 positive cases, University of Massachusetts-Amherst 476, Northeastern University 436, and the University of Notre Dame 1,789.

According to the Thanksgiving Travel Survey issued to BC students, approximately half of the BC undergraduate population chose to return to their home state for Thanksgiving and complete their remaining classes and final exams remotely, while half chose to remain in state and complete the remainder of the semester on campus.  

All campus residence halls will close for the semester on the last day of exams, scheduled for December 21, and will reopen at the start of the second semester on January 28. All students, faculty, and staff who plan to be on campus during the spring semester must be tested before classes resume.
