Choose a School

There are several factors to consider when choosing a business school. Here are some resources to help you evaluate the options.

Overall Reputation

Check sites like Businessweek, U.S. News & World Report and the Official MBA Guide to get a sense of a school's reputation. Reputation can be important for placement success, because companies will sometimes only recruit at certain schools.

Are you interested in a particular concentration? Target schools that are known for that discipline. Also consider each school’s instructional method—some schools are more focused on theory, while others use the case method, which emphasizes discussions about real-life business situations and how to resolve them.

Placement Success

Check with the admissions or placement offices to see which companies recruit on campus and the percentage of graduates who are employed within three months of graduation. Check specifically to see how graduates with your background and your concentrations have done.
