Speaker:  Dr. Melanie L. Harris

In this lecture, Dr. Melanie Harris introduces the conceptual frame of ecowomanism. Ecowomanist spirituality opens the mind, body and heart to awareness of the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities, most especially communities of color. It highlights the importance of intersectional race-class-gender analysis and recovers contemplative practices that can help us more deeply connect to the sacredness of earth as a form of earth care. Dr. Harris leads us in earth-honoring faith practices of mindfulness, inviting us to deeply reflect on our own relationship with the earth and our views on earth justice as social justice.
