The Golden Eagles Dance Team is the official dance team of the Boston College Marching Band, performing at football games and high-profile events in Boston and beyond. Our styles include pom, high kick, jazz, and contemporary.

What sets us apart:

The Golden Eagles are a fixture at Boston College football games, performing alongside the "Screaming Eagles" Marching Band to create an electric atmosphere at Alumni Stadium. We welcome dancers from a variety of backgrounds including cheer, kickline, and gymnastics.

  • Attend the Marching Band’s pre-season camp in late August.
  • Perform at all home football games, post-season bowl games, and high-profile events throughout the city of Boston and beyond. 
  • Perform in a range of campus dance events including ALC Showdown, BC's Week of Dance, and the Arts Festival.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 7:00-9:00 pm.

Fall performances

During the fall season, the Golden Eagles perform at all home football games, post-season bowl games, and high-profile events throughout the city of Boston and beyond! The fall also includes a performance in BC’s Week of Dance.

The Golden Eagles also attend the Marching Band’s pre-season camp in late August and participate in all Marching Band events and performances.

Auditions

We welcome dancers from a variety of backgrounds, including cheer, kickline, and gymnastics. Any incoming or current student at Boston College can audition for the Golden Eagles. Through the Marching Band’s Partner School Program, we also welcome students from all Boston-area universities. See the Partner School’s tab on the Marching Band page to learn more. 


Auditions process for the Golden Eagles:

  1. Are you interested in the Golden Eagles? Send us a video from a recent performance or a brief video representative of your skill set.Submit your video(s) to goldeneaglesdanceteam@bc.edu.

  2. Dancers moving to the second phase of the audition process will be invited to submit an additional audition combination video.

  3. Brief individual Zoom interviews will be conducted following the technical portion of the audition process.


Auditions are accepted on a rolling basis. Early submissions are recommended, as field spots are limited.

All submissions will be reviewed by a panel including the Golden Eagles Dance Instructors and Section Leaders.

Audition criteria include:

  1. overall technique,
  2. choreography accuracy,
  3. timing,
  4. transition precision,
  5. performance projection, and
  6. confidence.

Please wear appropriate athletic attire. Form-fitting black tops and black leggings or shorts are recommended.
