In these times of conflictual statements, violence, and clear hatred, all while in a global pandemic, let us return to the Gospel, faith, and our religious heritage. Let us be mindful of a God who loves, protects and accompanies all people. As it says in 1 Jn 4 “God is love and those who abide in love abide in God. There is no fear in perfect love.” Follow the thoughts and messages of Mission and Ministry during these stressful times.

We at Boston College seek truth and the Common Good. As a community and family, we faithfully, strongly, and proudly walk with God’s people in both the good times and bad times. We believe we are never alone and our “Mission” calls us to commit to journeying with one another, without prejudice, malice, or preference, no matter the issues, concerns, or problems.

Whether we agree or disagree we are “friends and neighbors” no matter our differences. We are a community and people of love; with steadfast compassion and faith. As a Jesuit Catholic University, we hold up Jesus as a model and choose, like Him, to be with humanity in all its pain, suffering, and sinfulness. This community wants to mirror God’s love to those who make up this family, those around us, and all in the world!

Never feel alone; seek out support from your professors, administrators, and staff; certainly, reach out and go to the units and offices within Mission and Ministry (UMM) and Student Affairs (SA) that are on campus to help and comfort. Campus Ministry, Counselling Services, Health Services the BAIC along with the rest of the offices within the two Divisions which are at BC to serve ALL!
