Academic Technology Innovation Grant

The Academic Technology Innovation Grant (ATIG) should bring new instructional and research technologies to Boston College or bring innovative approaches to teaching and research through technology. ATIGs should aim to be self-sustaining and impact a large number of Boston College faculty and/or students. ATIGs provide start up funding, typically between $5K and $40K, although larger grants have occasionally been funded. Any successful project which continues beyond the two year grant period will require localized funding support. Grant recipients must agree to provide status reports as requested. All full-time faculty members are invited to apply for an ATIG.

Apply For An ATIG

Application Deadline: March 12, 2021

Special funding conditions: The ATAB committee will favor grant proposals that are:  1) designed to improve teaching, especially grants to enhance online teaching/learning; 2) relevant and doable in our current COVID-19 situation; and 3) time sensitive for some reason. So, if you have a proposal that combines the innovative use of technology and fits the ATAB grant criteria, we urge you to apply.

The fall call is only open to new investigators.

New investigators are defined as full-time faculty members who have not received ATAB funding in the past three years.  The submission deadline for project proposals is November 15, 2020.  Projects in this special competition should be completed by May 31, 2022.  Budgets should not exceed $15,000 and may include a $5000 faculty stipend.
