Presenter:  Michael Simone, S.J.

The Gospel readings this year for the Sundays of Lent come from the Gospels of Matthew and John. After taking some time to analyze the overall themes of these evangelists, in particular how they understood Jesus's function as Rabbi and son of God, Fr. Simone considers how the Sunday readings describe encounters with the divine and the consequent transformation of the individuals involved. He then explores how these same ideas might continue to guide discipleship today.
