What Does it Mean to be an Endowed Scholar?

Endowed Scholars are undergraduate students whose education at BC is partially or fully supported by financial aid. The pool of funding that all financial aid packages are sourced from is funded by hundreds of individual named scholarships. Some of these scholarships carry specific preferences, such as academic achievement, extracurricular activities, or a hometown.

Each academic year, all recipients of financial aid at Boston College are asked to participate in an online survey/short answer process via this link:

Your participation and letter submission does not result in additional funding to your pre-existing financial aid package, and in no way impacts decisions about your financial aid package, which is managed by the Financial Aid Office.

This yearly cycle of support and relationship-building has the potential to benefit generations of BC students to come by inspiring continued or increased scholarship giving. Connecting with BC donors through this communication - as well as other optional activities throughout the year - can also lead to valuable networking opportunities, and even lasting personal relationships. Endowed Scholars who submit their responses in a timely manner also have an opportunity to enter a raffle to win prizes.

If you have any questions, please email endowed.scholars@bc.edu.
