ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us at "The Evolving Potential of SHARE: The Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe." At this luncheon presentation, Dr. Litwin will present the latest features of SHARE, a publicly accessible panel study of persons aged 50 and older that was inspired by the American Health and Retirement Study. Special attention will be given to the measurement of social networks in SHARE and recent findings based upon the new social networks module will be presented.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Howard Litwin is a professor at, and the former dean of, the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Justice at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. How a social gerontologist who studies the correlates of well-being in late-life. His work examines how social networks influence older people's perceptions, feelings and actions. He is the founding Head of the Isreal Gerontological Date Center, the Coordinator of the Social Networks Area for the Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe and the PI for SHARE-Isreal, the NIH-funded Israeli component of the SHARE survey.
