Ideal applicants are curious and open to imagining how the next stage in life may differ from their accomplished careers, and who are ready to explore new ways of being in a supportive and lasting community. Priority ApplicationThe priority round allows six months of planning before starting the program. Applicants are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline of May 1. International applicants should also consider this deadline to ensure time for VISA application processing. Decision letters are sent by late June.
Rolling ApplicationIndividuals who learn about this opportunity after the priority decision deadline may still apply through August 15 and be considered for remaining spaces in the cohort. Decisions will be shared on a rolling basis.

Applicants may be considered at other times if spaces are available in the cohort. Conversations with individuals who are interested in future cohorts are welcomed and encouraged. It is never too early to begin talking about your interest in the program.

Resume or CV and Bio

Candidates will be asked to submit their current CV or resume and a brief bio. The bio should include details of the candidate’s professional background, education, achievements, and personal interests.

 

Statement of Purpose

Candidates must submit a statement of purpose and should include:

  • A description of your career.
  • Why are you called to participate in BC Companions?
  • What would you contribute to the cohort of Fellows?
  • Tell us anything else about yourself that will help us understand your intent to join us.

The statement of purpose should be no longer than five double-spaced pages.

 

Letter of Recommendation

Candidates must submit one letter of recommendation.

 

Zoom Interview

After a careful review of the information provided by each candidate, the team will contact those candidates whose accomplishments and reasons for joining the program potentially align with BC Companions. Then, an interview will be set up using Zoom.
