New Graduate and Professional Student Orientation

Welcome to Boston College, graduate and professional students! The Virtual 2020 New Graduate and Professional Student Orientation program will include three parts. We encourage all incoming grad students to participate in each:

Orientation Virtual Drop In Hours

Meet current graduate students and chat about what it is like to be a grad student at BC! Orientation Guides will be hosting Virtual Drop-In Hours via Zoom in late July and throughout August to answer your questions about navigating graduate student life. The sessions are informal, and you can join a session at any time. All incoming students will receive a Zoom link and Drop-In Hours schedule in mid-July. Contact gsc@bc.edu with questions.

Virtual Orientation Modules

In late August, all incoming graduate students will receive access to a series of online orientation modules. The modules will be hosted in Canvas, and students will be notified via email when they become available. The purpose of the modules is to assist in you in your transition to graduate school and introduce you to key resources available to you at BC. The modules will provide a broad overview and serve as a supplement to your program or department orientation.

  • Virtual Orientation Modules link coming soon!
  • Complete all modules and the survey by September 10 to be entered to win Beats Solo Pro Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones, BC bookstore gift cards, and Amazon.com gift cards.
  • Students who complete all modules and the survey by September 10 will receive a Boston College T-shirt.
  • Move through the modules at your own pace.
