The second full week of pre-spring semester testing (January 25-31) concluded with University Health Services reporting a total of 75 positive COVID-19 tests, including 61 undergraduates, out of 15,282 tests performed.
As of January 31, there are 69 BC undergraduates in isolation—50 in University isolation housing and 19 recovering at home. A total of 444 undergraduates have recovered and returned to normal activities since testing began in August.
Between the first day of testing on August 16, and today, University Health Services has conducted a cumulative total of 167,391 tests of BC community members with 634 positive cases reported. Among undergrads, UHS has conducted 119,800 tests with 516 positives. The University’s cumulative positivity rate is 0.37%.
By comparison, Boston University has reported 1,177 positive cases, Northeastern University 1,112, and University of Massachusetts-Amherst 860.
In addition to daily symptomatic testing, targeted asymptomatic testing will take place in the Connell Recreation Center MAC Court Testing Site Mondays - Thursdays, 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
