Boston College resumed regular testing for the spring semester on January 19, with University Health Services reporting a total of 19 positive cases through Thursday, January 21, including four undergraduates, out of 3,018 total tests conducted.

As of today, there are five BC undergraduates in isolation—two in University isolation housing and three recovering at home. A total of 439 undergraduates have recovered and returned to normal activities since August.

Between the first day of testing on August 16, and today, University Health Services has conducted 146,831 tests of BC community members with 542 positive cases reported. Among undergrads, UHS has conducted 103,964 tests with 444 positives. The University’s cumulative positivity rate is 0.36%.

By comparison, Boston University has reported 1,011 positive cases, Northeastern University 1,019, and University of Massachusetts-Amherst 744.

All BC students, faculty, and staff who plan to be on campus during the spring semester must be tested before classes resume.
