Boston College resumed large-scale testing on January 19, with University Health Services reporting eight positive cases thus far for the week, including two undergraduates, out of 1,694 tests conducted.
As of today (January 21), there are three BC undergraduates in isolation–one in University isolation housing and two recovering at home. A total of 439 undergraduates have recovered and returned to normal activities since August.
Between the first day of testing on August 16, and today, University Health Services has conducted 145,507 tests of BC community members with 531 positive cases reported. Among undergrads, UHS has conducted 103,804 tests with 442 positives. The University’s cumulative positivity rate is 0.36%.
By comparison, Boston University has reported 1,011 positive cases, Northeastern University 997, and University of Massachusetts-Amherst 722.
All BC students, faculty, and staff who plan to be on campus during the spring semester must be tested before classes resume.
