2025 C.I. Study Executive Summary

The 2025 Community Involvement Study: Executive Summary

For more than 25 years, the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship has periodically updated its Community Involvement Study. This study explores shifting trends in employee volunteering, corporate giving, and corporate community involvement issue alignment. This year, we're breaking the data down into three sub-reports, highlighting each of these three major strands: volunteering, giving, and C.I. issue alignment. With each sub-report, BCCCC members also enjoy insightful supplements to flesh out topics like nonprofit board service and the use of A.I. in grantmaking.
Non-members can request the summary here. For full findings, including hundreds of pages of charts, trends, templates, and more, ask about membership for your company.

Lowe's-funded, post-disaster training program creates new pathways in skilled trades

Lowe's-funded, post-disaster training program creates new pathways in skilled trades

When Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina, it left more than wreckage in its wake—it left families without homes, communities without workers, and futures on hold. In response to the widespread damage, Lowe’s and the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) launched the Rapid Recovery Construction Training Program (RRCA) at Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Powered by NCCER’s Level Up: Core Construction curriculum and funded through Lowe’s disaster relief initiative, RRCA is a tuition-free, fast-track program designed to train and place students, many of who lost their previous jobs due to the hurricane, in high-demand trades like electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general construction—quickly and effectively.

“Lowe’s collaborated with NCCER to develop this training program as a result of the devastating impact of Hurricane Ian,” said Julie Yenichek, Lowe’s director of community relations. “The program is a fast-track to a new career that will not only help people get back on their feet after a disaster, but also help their neighbors rebuild.”  Learn more about this program here.
