Dear Members of the Boston College Community:
I regret to inform you that Patrick J. Walsh, of Westwood, Mass., a student in the Woods College of Advancing Studies Class of 2023, died suddenly in his sleep on September 1.
Patrick was a graduate of Westwood High School, and had studied at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and worked in the biotech field in Boston before enrolling in the Woods College. His brother, Aidan, and sister, Maria, are also students in the Woods College. His father, John, is a longstanding member of the BC Police Department security staff, and is well known to visitors to Burns Library.
Visiting hours will be held at Gormley Funeral Home on 2055 Centre Street in West Roxbury on Sunday, September 8, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre Street, on Monday, September 9, at 10:30 a.m.
Staff from BC Counseling Services and Campus Ministry are available to members of the Woods and wider BC community who are in need of assistance.
Please keep Patrick and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
