Sydney Horan (MBA ’27)

This series highlights BC MBA students’ upcoming summer internships, featuring their firsthand accounts of securing internships across various industries and roles.

This summer, Sydney Horan (MBA ’27) will intern at Sanofi in Cambridge as a Sales and Marketing Associate on the allergy team.

How did you secure your internship?

I secured this internship by having a coffee chat with a Boston College alum currently employed at Sanofi.

Before that, I attended a Sanofi recruitment meeting, which provided additional networking opportunities within the company.

How did your first year at BC prepare you for this internship?

My first year in the BC MBA program has strengthened my analytical thinking, strategic marketing, and collaboration skills.

The coursework components on marketing and data-driven decision-making have equipped me with the expertise necessary to approach Sanofi’s brand positioning with a strategic mindset.

Additionally, the program’s emphasis on communication and leadership skills has prepared me to collaborate effectively with teams across marketing, sales, and patient support.

What excites you most about your internship?

I am eager to contribute to meaningful, patient-centered initiatives while deepening my understanding of how a leading brand develops its strategies and tactics.

Additionally, I will learn how insights from patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and the market translate into actionable decisions.

Finally, I will cultivate meaningful connections with both the consumer and sales teams, as I believe understanding their unique contributions will ensure our brand’s continued success.
