Academic Success Program

Boston College Law School offers a wide variety of programs to ensure all students achieve their academic potential. Our programs begin from the time of admission to the law school and continue through admission to the bar.

Our goal is to promote positive learning strategies and help students develop the skills essential to success in law school and as a practicing attorney.  We provide courses, workshops and individual coaching that furthers meaningful engagement with course materials inside and outside of the classroom.

Services We Offer

While many of our programs are geared to the special challenges first year students face as they adjust to law school, we provide a variety of offerings for students throughout their years at BC Law.

Our Services

  • Zero-L: A self-paced online course which provides a broad introduction to what you can expect in law school and to the skills you will need to succeed, including the basics on how to read cases and understand the legal system.
  • Lawyering Fundamentals: A pre-orientation course offered in August that offers a realistic preview of the law school classroom experience and gives incoming 1Ls the opportunity to practice key skills and get substantive feedback on writing and legal analysis before the semester begins. The course is designed to support a smooth transition from typical undergraduate thought processes and study habits to lawyer-like thinking, reasoning, analysis, and problem solving.
