TAKEAWAY: PARTNERING ON TARIFF ISSUES

Would you like to comment on the issue of tariffs versus no tariffs?

Honestly, no, but (laughter)—no. Well, I think, you know, we’re working closely with the government—U.S. government—on the TPP [Trans-Pacific Partnership] work that’s going on. We feel that it’s important to have that close connection and to work on what’s really ultimately going to present a level playing field for U.S. companies, what’s going to create jobs.

We feel strongly that we are in a position to invest in the U.S., for example—North America—to create jobs. And we think that the position that we’re taking—and working with the U.S. government on this issue—is going to help make that happen. So we support a leveling of the playing field. Let’s put it that way.
