TAKEAWAY: LTE AS A GAME-CHANGER

Today there are more mobile devices than people in the United States. Smartphones can now do most if not all what we used to do tethered to our desks. We launched our first mobile data network in 2004 with the nation’s first 3G wireless network. The next phase [was] in 2010 with our 4G wireless network—and as I mentioned before, Boston was one of our test markets and our initial market of what is now a 400-city deployment of this technology.

What we see is a technology that’s literally changing the way mobile works. The super-fast speeds of LTE make it a game-changer. The bandwidth capacity is greater than what most of you have in your homes. And so it enables some incredibly capable applications that I’ll speak about in a moment.
