WePay CEO Pulled Leadership Skills from Sideline Antics and Socrates

A wealth of Boston College experiences and a sense of adventure have helped propel the entrepreneurial career of Bill Clerico ’07, founder and CEO of WePay, an online payments processor. Clerico and fellow alum Rich Aberman ’07, started WePay when they were just a year out of BC: “There’s no better time to start a company than when you’re in your 20s,” Clerico says.

Shea Center Executive Director Aims to Help Students Become “Startup Ready"

Entrepreneurial adventures have taken Jere Doyle ’87, P’15, to Spain, Sweden, and several European cities in between. And the BC alum has now come full circle to serve as the executive director of the new Edmund H. Shea Jr. Center for Entrepreneurship. He says his current business ventures—he’s an angel investor who counsels startup entrepreneurs—dovetail with his role at the Carroll School of Management.

Boston College has long been home to a band of undergrads committed to entrepreneurship. With the opening of the Shea Center for Entrepreneurship, current BC students have reorganized what had been informally coordinated efforts into Start@Shea, a new undergraduate club.
