Catholic Senators and Presidential Candidates: Their Faith and Public Policy3,000 people attended this C21 event in Conte Forum with Tim Russert, host of NBC's "Meet the Press," moderating a debate between two presidential candidates: senators Christopher Dodd (Democrat-Conneticut) and Sam Brownback (Republican-Kansas). Video of the event is available on our website via webcast and is being broadcast on C-SPAN.

C21 Series on Women

C21 Series on WomenOn Wednesday, April 18, BC's Institute for Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry (IREPM) and C21 hosted an event titled "Speaking as a Woman: Reflections on Contemporary Catholicism." The event featured Colleen Griffith, Adjunct Associate Professor in the IREPM. This was the third of three scheduled events in the C21 Series on Women this academic year.

Agape Latte

Agape LatteOur final speaker of the year, Rev. Kenneth Himes, O.F.M., Chairman, Theology Department, spoke to 150 undergraduates in Hillside Cafe in early May. The title of his talk was "Being Catholic and American: Compatible or Conflicted?" April's Agape Latte speaker was Dr. Marina Mc Coy, Assistant Professor in the Philosophy Department, who spoke on "Choosing the Church: My story of conversion and faith."

The Socialist Revolution of Hugo Chavez and the Future of the Venezuelan ChurchOn Thursday, April 26, Rafael Luciani, the Director of Theology at Catholic University of Andres Bello, Caracas, Venezuela spoke to the Boston College Community. The event was sponsored by the Gasson Chair in Theology, The Center for Human Rights and International Justice, as well as The Center for the Church in the 21st Century.
