Catholic Politicians in the U.S.

Catholic Politicians in the U.S.On Monday, February 27, C21 hosted a major event in Conte Forum. Entitled "Catholic Politicians in the U.S.: Their Faith and Public Policy," it was the largest C21 event to date, with some 6,000 people in attendance and another 3,000 people viewing it through the live webcast. The event, hosted by Tim Russert and featuring James Carville, Peggy Noonan, E.J. Dionne, and Ed Gillespie, was also taped and broadcast by C-SPAN. Truth, Life and Solidarity: Philosophical Perspectives on the Thought of Pope John Paul IIOver 200 people gathered at Boston College on February 24 and February 25 for the C21 Conference "Truth, Life and Solidarity: the Philosophical Perspectives on the Thought of Pope John Paul II." The conference focused on the significance for philosophy of his seminal work in ethics, social theory, and anthropology. A diverse group of internationally renowned scholars and other experts on John Paul II from both North America and Europe were featured. George Weigel, Senior Research Scholar at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, delivered the keynote address, "Wojtyla & the Philosophers," which can viewed on our website.
