Teacher Education at Boston College

Our Approach

Five unique master’s programs. One commitment to preparing teachers who:

  • Spark meaning by applying a whole-child approach that supports students’ intellectual, social, and emotional growth.
  • Promote justice and serve diverse learners through an understanding of various social, historical, and other contexts.
  • Inspire classrooms where students can participate actively in the learning process and co-create knowledge.
  • Combine field experience with rigorous classroom inquiry to thrive as transformative educators.

Our Programs

Small group learning session with four children and their teacher.

Donovan Urban Teaching Scholars Program

Want to join a small M.Ed. cohort committed to making a difference in urban schools? As a Donovan Scholar, you can earn any of these master's degrees in a one-year, intensive format that emphasizes social justice, community building, and critical inquiry. Members of our cohort complete a year-long practicum in one of our partner schools in Boston and receive a minimum of 50% tuition remission.
