Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Samantha Akers '26 first learned about Boston College in 2018 while working as an au pair. Six years later, after getting married and enrolling at Bunker Hill Community College, Akers transferred to the Heights to pursue her dream of earning a four-year degree, majoring in business while taking classes in everything from ethics to theology.

Dr. Patty Raube Keller, Program Director of the M.S. in Sports Administration, has been appointed to the Special Working Group on Youth Sports. Created through the 2024 Massachusetts economic development bill, this group is charged with studying the state’s youth sports landscape and recommending improvements in safety, access, and affordability. Dr. Keller joins Representative Marcus Vaughn and others in examining key issues such as coach licensing, player safety, and participation limits.
