Basic INFORMATION
- Refers to the 6 day period between the end of final exams and Commencement.
- Per your Conditions of Residency agreement, all non-senior resident students must be checked-out of their academic year assignments by 5:00 p.m. on May 12th. All appropariate check-out procedures should be completed.
- Students may apply for extension housing if they have a documented need to remain on campus from May 13 - May 18. All applications must be approved by Residential Life staff. Examples of students who qualify for Extension Housing:
- Students involved in Senior Week/Commencement Committees (ODSD/Band must provide documentation)
- Students involved in UGBC training (ODSD/UGBC must provide documentation)
- Students involved in Service Trips (ODSD/Campus Ministry must provide documentation)
- Non-seniors that live in any Senior Area building (Ignacio, Rubesntein, Voute, Gabllie, 110 St. Thomas More, 66 Comm Ave and Edmond's) must apply for either Interim or Guest Housing. Non-seniors are not may not apply for an In-Room Extension for longer than 1 night. (
TYPES OF EXTENSIONS
- In-Room Extension: All undergraduates that live in Walsh, Cheverus, Claver, or Loyola may stay in their spring placements. Also, any undergraduate except for those living in Fitzpatrick, Gonzaga, Fenwick, Vanderslice, 90 STM 1110 STM, and Edmond's, applying for a one night extension should also choose this option.
- No In-Room Extensions (one night or otherwise) will be granted for students living in Fitzpatrick, Gonzaga, Fenwick, Vanderslice, 90 STM, 110 STM, and Edmond's.
- Non-seniors that live in Senior Area buildings (Ignacio, Rubesntein, Voute, Gabllie, 110 St. Thomas More, 66 Comm Ave and Edmond's) must apply for either Interim or Guest Housing.
- Interim Housing: All undergraduates staying for more than one night, except those that live in Walsh Cheverus, Claver, or Loyola must move and check in according to the transition schedule. Residents of Vanderslice, 90 STM, 110 STM, and Edmond's that need to stay one night may apply for Interim Housing as well.
- Guest Housing: Undergraduates may stay with a friend (of the same gender) living in Walsh that has also applied for and been approved for an In-Room Extension. Applicants must provide their host's information, including Eagle Number, and the host's date of departure must be equal to or after the guest's.
- Senior Extension: Seniors that need an extension until May 19 at noon. Extensions for seniors are not normally granted and those seeking them should see their Resident Director. Please do not fill out this form.
Students
- All non-senior students, except those that live in Walsh Hall, CLX, or Cheverus, who wish to stay for Extension Housing will relocate to either a friends room in Walsh Hall or to CLX/Cheverus. Students living in Walsh, CLX, and Cheverus may remain in their rooms. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy.
- All students granted Interim Housing must check out from their current residence and check-in to their new residence according to the Summer Housing Transition Schedule.
- If approved, you will receive an extension slip via email. This slip must be posted on the door of the room you are staying in by 5:00 PM on May 12 for undergraduates and by 5:00 PM on May 18 for seniors.
- Students in Extension Housing must check out by 8pm on May 18 with the RD of the building in which they stay for this period. Improper/late check-out, failure to check-out, excessive trash or room damage will result in a fine and University Disciplinary action.
- Any student who does not have authorization, yet remains past 5:00 p.m. on May 12th will forfeit their housing assignment for the next elligable year and may receive a $200 late check-out fine.
- All extension requests must be submitted online via the AGORA Portal. Click on My ResLife under My Services, then select Web Forms, then Individual Transition.
- If you are applying as an individual, select Individual under Spring Extensions and complete the subsequent form.
- If you are applying as part of a group, select your group's name under Spring Extensions. Your group's date of departure will be populated for you. If you do not see your group listed, please contact your group administrator.
- If you live in a room that does not allow for an in-room extension, you will be promted to select Interim Housing or Guest Housing.
- If you select Guest Housing, you will be prompted to provide your host's information.
- Upon the processing of your application you will receive an email notifying you whether or not your extension has been approved. Please allow up to 3 business days for all processing.
- If approved, you will receive an extension slip via email. This slip must be posted on the door of the room you are staying in by 5:00 PM on May 12.
- Students that have applied for Summer Housing and require an overnight extension slip because the Transition Schedule requires a Wednesday move will be sent one via email on May 11.
- Applicants that are not approved are required to check out of their spring placement by 5:00 PM on May 12, 2009.
