It is your responsibility to read through the following general closing information and your respective check-out information so that you fully understand the University’s expectations.
This information will be reviewed during an end-of-the-year floor meeting. Please take the opportunity to ask questions. See your Resident Assistant for specific dates and times.
Quiet hours for all residence halls begin on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. and continue through Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. Please respect your fellow residents as they prepare for finals.
Students may apply for a temporary housing extension. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
During the months of May and June, all buildings will be inspected by a trained Facilities Inspection team. Any malicious damages or excessive trash in your room/suite will be documented and will result in fines that will be applied to your student account by July 1st. Damages in common areas are divided amongst all residents and a $50.00 administrative fee is added to each individual account.
Any rooms/suites found with any excessive damage or excessive trash will be assessed a $500 per-person fine. Please refer to the Check-Out List for your specific area and for a detailed list of expectations.
If an individual wishes to take responsibility for damages or you find you have been billed in error, please appeal the charges no later than July 31st by using the Agora Portal and going to "My ResLife Bill".
All appeals must be submitted within 30 days of the transaction and all charges are non-disputable and nonrefundable after July 31st.
If you were issued a key in the beginning of the year, you are required to return your key before you will be completely checked out. All keys must be returned to Residential Life at the time of check-out. During check-out, you will be signing a check-out form indicating that you did or did not return your key.
The key you return will be checked to ensure it is the same key you were issued at check-in. All invalid keys will be considered lost. Keys will not be accepted by mail, and any key left in a room will be considered lost. Failure to return your key will result in a fine of $20.00 (bedroom doors) or $50.00 (Medeiros, Shaw, Greycliff, Mods).
BC Clean is a donation program overseen by the Office of Residential Life in collaboration with Custodial Services and the Office of Sustainability. Students can donate good condition clothing, non-perishable food, books, appliances, as well as general household goods and furniture. All donations go to local charities in the greater Boston area.
The University Shuttle Bus will run on a regular schedule during study days and final exams. The regular academic shuttle service will stop at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Route information can be viewed on the Transportation & Parking web site at www.bc.edu/shuttle.

Our moving and storage company is Piece by Piece Storage. They will be selling boxes to pack up your belongings, storage for the summer, assistance in moving your boxes from your room to your car, and final cleaning packages for your room if you decide to leave stuff behind and want them to clean it up for you. Piece by Piece Storage website contains all their pricing information.
No personal moving companies, door-to-door, or storage units (a/k/a PODs) will be allowed onto campus. A limited number of carts are available at some residence halls. It is recommended that you bring your own dolly or cart to facilitate your move.
Your Cleaners, conveniently located in 90 St. Thomas More, offers free summer storage with the use of their dry-cleaning/laundry service.
The University does not assume liability or responsibility for belongings left in your room. Arrangements must be made prior to your departure for removal and storage of all personal belongings. All items left behind will be discarded without compensation to the owner.

All maintenance issues including furnishings, pest control, and lock/combo changes should be submitted online via the Agora Portal. Please be sure to include the phone number at which you may be reached and a detailed description of the issue. If the request for repair is deemed malicious damage, appropriate charges will be added to your account and judicial sanctioning will be determined.
Facilities Services will determine the priority of your maintenance request and assign the work item to the appropriate trade shop for completion. A Work Order request should be completed within 7 days. If your request is not completed within the time frame, please contact your Resident Director. Also note: During the month of September work orders may take longer to complete due to high volume of requests.
All emergencies, such as leaks, flooding, no heat, broken locks, or combination pads, should be immediately called into the Facilities Service Center at 617-552-3048. If Facilities is closed, please call the BCPD at 617-552-4444.
