The Mentoring Program has been a longstanding part of the Shaw Leadership Program for many years. Every year each incoming freshman is paired up with an upperclassmen, who serves as an advisor and friend. All upperclassmen in the Shaw Leadership Program are given the opportunity to apply to be a mentor to a freshmen peer. Twenty mentors are selected by the Mentoring Program Coordinators in the Shaw Council after carefully analyzing both the mentor's and mentee's applications. A "meet and greet" event is also held to ensure an appropriate match in terms of personality and interest.

During the year, mentors and mentees meet periodically to discuss life at BC, life in the Shaw House, or life in general. This program gives each freshman the opportunity to find guidance from a BC upperclassmen. Mentors, and all upperclassmen for that matter, are invited to attend the weekly seminars usually held at the Shaw House. However, mentors are required to attend monthly mentor and mentee events organized by the Mentoring Program Coordinators. In the past, many of the mentors and mentees have formed strong friendships that continue even after their years at BC.
