Ready to quit smoking?
Boston College, in partnership with Harvard Pilgrim, provides a host of resources and programs available to help you do so. Harvard Pilgrim participates in QuitWorks, which offers free telephone-based tobacco treatment to residents of MA, NH and RI. You can obtain free and confidential tobacco cessation information, counseling, and support by calling the Tobacco Helpline at 1-800-Quit-Now (1-800-784-8669). Also visit Harvard Pilgrim's smoking cessation help page for more information and to learn about the 18% HPHC member discount on QuitSmart, an effective quit smoking program. Services are provided by bilingual staff in English and Spanish and through 3rd party translation for other languages. A TTY line for deaf and hard-of-hearing members also is available. A qualified quit expert will talk with you about the services available to help you.
HPHC also has expert healthcare coaches who are available to provide personalized telephone support for all HPHC members over age 18. Simply call Member Services at 888-333-4742 and ask to speak with a healthcare coach to guide you through the process of quitting.

Strategies to Quit Smoking Seminar (one hour session)
Description: Just thinking about quitting smoking can be overwhelming for many people. In this workshop, participants will learn how to prepare both mentally and physically for the process of quitting smoking. They will leave with new ideas and a sense of support for making this important step towards healthier living. Presenter Heidi Roth is a Registered Dietitian, Massachusetts State Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist and Certified Holistic Health Coach through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She teaches wellness through individual counseling and seminars, which includes smoking cessation and changing habits.
