Confidential Data and Collaboration

When sharing confidential data electronically (with those who are authorized) it is important to ensure it is secure. We strongly recommend you review the Regulated Data Chart to help guide you in your decision of choosing where to store certain types of confidential data.

For the most security, use MyFiles@bc or the appropriate Departmental Server to store and share electronic documents.
Note: MyFiles@bc is retiring in December 2015, but new recommendations regarding how best to store confidential data will be announced soon.

Identity Finder

Boston College uses Identity Finder as a tool to aid in the process of finding and handling confidential data on faculty and staff computers.
