What you need to do on your Windows computer
when you leave BC

After graduating you should complete the following steps:

Step 1: Uninstall ePO & McAfee VirusScan from your computer

Some of the software that you installed on your computer was installed under student licensing agreements, administered by the University. Since you are no longer a student, you should now remove the following software from your computer in accordance with the respective manufacturer’s terms and conditions:

Uninstalling McAfee ePO

To uninstall McAfee ePO:

  1. Login to your computer as an Administrator.
  2. New Window Will Open Download the ePO uninstaller.
  3. Save the Uninstall-ePO.exe file to your desktop.
  4. Double-click the Uninstall-ePO.exe file to run it.
  5. The removal process begins (see Figure 1).

  6. When the following appears, click OK (see Figure 2).

  7. If you have Windows Vista, click This program installed correctly (see Figure 3).

  8. McAfee ePO is now removed from your computer.
  9. Delete the Uninstall-ePO.exe file from your desktop.

 

Uninstalling McAfee VirusScan Enterprise

To uninstall McAfee VirusScan Enterprise:

  1. Login to your computer as an Administrator.
  2. Click the Start button, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Select McAfee VirusScan Enterprise on the list, then click Remove (see Figure 4).

Step 2: Purchase anti-virus protection

Internet viruses are running rampant! If you are online, your computer should not be left unprotected for any length of time. Be sure to get your own anti-virus software and install it as soon as you have un-installed your BC McAfee. You can contact McAfee directly to get a new subscription at: New Window www.mcafee.com/us.
