Summary:  A serious vulnerability has been identified in certain versions of Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe 3D, Adobe Elements, and RealPlayer, for Windows. The vulnerability enables a hacker to take control of your computer using malicious code.

VULNERABILITIES AND AFFECTED PLATFORMS DETAILS

Adobe

The vulnerability in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows computers allows remote attackers to execute malicious code through a PDF file.

Affected Platforms

Users running Windows XP or 2003 with Internet Explorer 7 installed. (Vista is not affected)

* Adobe Acrobat Professional, Acrobat Reader, 3D and Standard 8 to 8.1
Get update instructions for versions 8 to 8.1

* Adobe Acrobat Professional, Acrobat Reader, Standard, 3D and Elements 7.0.9 and earlier.
Get patch instructions for versions 7.0.9 and earlier.

RealPlayer

A vulnerability has been identified that would allow a hacker to attack your computer.

Affected Platforms

Users running Windows XP, 2000, 98, or ME

* RealPlayer 10
* RealPlayer 10.5
* RealPlayer 11 beta
* RealOne Player and RealOne Player v2
Get update instructions.

Users running Vista

*Any RealPlayer version
Get installation instructions.


What software version am I using?

To learn what version of a software you are currently using:

  1. Open the application. In this case you should open Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Acrobat Reader, or RealPlayer.
  2. From the applications toolbar, click Help>About (the software name).
  3. The version number will appear on the popup window.
