Printing over 36 pages in the CTRC using Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000
Summary:  Learn how to print over 36 pages in the CTRC using Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000. These instructions are for computers anywhere on-campus or documents larger than 36 pages.

Important Notice: Beginning August 6, 2007, students can print 500 pages per semester for free. If you print over 500 pages, you will be charged 3 cents per page to your Eagle Bucks account. Learn more about BC's student printing policy.

To set up to print over 36 pages in the CTRC using Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000:

  1. Log in to your computer as an Administrator.
  2. Optional: Join the BC domain.
    Note: If you join the BC domain, then you only need to follow these set up instructions once. If you do not join the BC domain and you restart your computer, you will need to repeat Steps 1-7 to print to the High-Volume Printer.
  3. Click Start, then click Run.
  4. Do the following (see Figure 1):
    • In the Open box, type: \\pharos-ps1
    • Click OK.

  5. If you have not joined the BC domain, you are prompted to enter your username and password (see Figure 2):
    • In the User name box, type (substituting your BC username in place of “username”): bc\username
    • In the Password box, enter your BC password.

  6. For one-sided printing, right-click CTRCOver36Pages and from the drop-down list, click Connect (see Figure 3).

  7. If prompted to install any necessary software, click OK.

Note: If you have not joined the BC domain and you restarted your computer, you will need to repeat Steps 1-7 to print to the High-Volume Printer.

Retrieving Print Jobs over 36 Pages Sent to the CTRC

Go to the high-volume printers in the back of the CTRC and swipe your BC ID at the print release station.  Your job will print at the first available printer. 

Note:  Your print jobs remain in the queue for 48 hours, making it easier to print to the CTRC from anywhere.
