Uploading files using a Web browser
MyFiles@bc
Summary:  To put files from your computer into your MyFiles@bc space, use the Upload function. Learn how to upload files to your MyFiles@bc account using a Web browser.

Note:

To upload files:

  1. Using your BC username & password, log in to your MyFiles@bc account at: New Window www.bc.edu/myfiles

  2. Locate the folder where you want to upload files. Learn about navigating folders.

  3. On the toolbar, click the Upload icon Upload button  to open the Upload File page (see Figure 1).

  4. If you want to upload more than three files, select the appropriate number of files from the Number of files to upload drop-down list (see Figure 2).
    Note: If you want to upload less than 3 files, you do not have to change the number of files.

  5. If the file already exists and you want to overwrite the file, select Overwrite file if it already exists (see Figure 3).
    Note: If versioning is turned on, the older versions are still available on the versioning page, regardless of whether you check this option or not. Learn more about versioning.

  6. Click Browse to locate the file on your computer that you want to upload to this folder (see Figure 4). Repeat this step for each file you want to upload.
    Macintosh note: You must save your files with an application extension (examples below):

    Application File Extension

    MS Word

    .doc
    MS Excel .xls
    MS PowerPoint .ppt
    Graphic files .gif or .jpg
    Adobe PDF (portable document files) .pdf
    Web pages .html or .htm

  7. After you select the file(s) on your computer to upload, click OK to upload your file(s) (see Figure 5).
