Emailing links to shared files and folders
Note: The email will contain a link to the shared file. The actual file will not be attached.
To email the link of a file or folder:
- Make sure to grant access permissions to files or folders to people you want to share with. Learn how to set up sharing of your files or folders.
- Locate the file or folder. Learn about navigating folders.
- Next to the name of the file or folder, select the box (see Figure 1).
Note: Make sure the file or folder is shared, which is indicated by the green share icon
in the Share column.

- In the toolbar, click Email:

The Email Links to Your Files page appears (see Figure
2).
- You have 2 options for emailing a link to a file or folder:
Option 1: This option emails
a direct link to the file or folder. Use this option if you only need
others to read the file with no other options.
-- OR --
Option 2: This option emails
a link to the File
or Folder Information page, which gives a link to the file or folder with
other options.
Once you decide which option you want to use, do the following (see
Figure 2):
- To send an email from any computer using BC's Web-based email application, click WebMail.
- If you are at your personal computer, to send an email using
your desktop email application (i.e., Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.), click
Desktop Email.

- Address and send the email to the individuals or groups you are sharing with.
