Wireless broadband solutions are either cards that fit into slots on your computer, or USB devices. The cards allow the user's computer to access the service provider's cellular network to gain wireless connectivity.
Most major wireless vendors (Verizon, Spring, AT&T, etc.) sell these cards and service plans for them. Plans vary widely in terms of rates, features, and availability. There are cards available specifically for Mac and PC, and the USB devices can often be used on either platform. The USB device may be particularly helpful if multiple users (like employees in a particular department) might be sharing the device using different platforms and hardware models.
The cards will give the users a wireless connection on their computers anywhere within their particular service provider's cellular coverage area.
The service plans for the cards are typically billed monthly, much the same as cell phones are.
