Pre-installation
- Print this page for reference.
- Uninstall any previous versions of Microsoft Office you have installed.
Note: If you need assistance uninstalling previous versions of Office, please contact the Help Center at 617-552-HELP (2-HELP from on-campus) or help.center@bc.edu. - Download Microsoft Office 2003 to your desktop. When prompted, enter your BC username and password. Save the MicrosoftOffice2003-Win.exe installation file to your desktop. Do not install the application at this time. NOTE:
- There may be a slight delay before your download starts.
- Due to the Office 2003 installer's large file size, it may take a few minutes to download.
- To prevent disruptions to the download, we recommend that you use a high-speed, wired connection to the Internet, such as a broadband or DSL connection. Wireless connections are usually less stable and may cause your download to take longer or fail.
- Quit any open applications.
Install Microsoft Office 2003
- Locate and double-click the MicrosoftOffice2003-Win.exe installer on your desktop.
- If you use Windows Vista and are prompted for permission to install Office 2003, click Allow.
- If you are asked, "Are you sure you want to run this software?", click Run.

- Wait while the installation initializes (see Figure 2)

- Enter your initials on the "User Information" screen, then click Next (see Figure 3).

- Choose Typical Install, then click Next (see Figure 4).

- Wait while Office 2003 installs. This may take 10 minutes or more (see Figure 5).

- Once the installation completes, check the box next to "Check the Web for updates and additional downloads," then click Next (see Figure 6).

- Follow the prompts on the Office website to check for and install Office updates.
- After all updates have been installed, delete the MicrosoftOffice2003-Win.exe installer icon from your desktop.
