Installing BC UIS for Course Registration

Note: If you have Vista (64-bit), BC UIS will not install on your computer. Please go to the CTRC to register for classes.

Installing BC UIS on a Windows computer

To install BC UIS on a Windows computer:

  1. Click here to download BC UIS.
  2. Save the Install_UIS.exe file to your Desktop.
  3. Double-click the Install_UIS.exe file: icon
  4. Click Unzip (see Figure 1).

  5. Click OK (see Figure 2).

  6. Click Close (see Figure 3).

  7. On your Desktop, double-click the UIS folder: folder
  8. Double-click Setup:setup
    Using Vista: If prompted, click Allow.
    BC UIS is installed on your computer.
  9. On your Desktop, delete the Install_UIS.exe file and the UIS folder.

To open BC UIS:

  1. Select BC UIS from your Program menu or Desktop: uis icon
  2. To log in to BC UIS (see Figure 4), enter your BC username and password and press <ENTER>

Installing BC UIS on Mac OS X

To install BC UIS on Mac OS X:

  1. Click here to download BC UIS.
  2. Save the BC_UIS_Installer.dmg file to your Desktop.
  3. Double-click the BC_UIS_Installer.dmg file: installer
  4. Double-click BC UIS: drive
  5. Double-click BC UIS Installer: installer
  6. Click Continue (see Figure 5).

  7. Click your hard drive (Macintosh HD / Power HD) and then click Continue (see Figure 6).

  8. Click Install (If you are using Tiger (v. 10.4), see Figure 7. If you are using Leopard (v. 10.5), see Figure 8).
    Note: You may need to enter your Administrator password.

  9. Click Close (If you are using Tiger (v. 10.4), see Figure 9. If you are using Leopard (v. 10.5), see Figure 10).

  10. BC UIS is installed in the Applications folder on your computer.
  11. On your Desktop, delete the BC_UIS_Installer.dmg file and eject the BC UIS drive.

To open BC UIS:

  1. In your Applications folder, double-click the BC UIS icon: tiger icon
  2. To log in to BC UIS (see Figure 11), enter your BC username and password and press <ENTER>:
