Open a Shared Calendar

outlook web access light

This article explains how to open a calendar that someone else has shared with you. These steps also apply to opening a resource calendar.

IMPORTANT: Note that when you open someone else or a resource's calendar in Outlook Web Access Light (OWA), you will only be able to view it. You will not be able to edit it even if you have been given permission to do so. To edit a shared calendar you will need to use a desktop client such as iCal, Entourage, or Outlook 2007.

  1. Make sure you are in Calendar view.
  2. Click Open a Shared Calendar... in the left navigation pane (see Figure 1).

  3. Click the Add button (see Figure 2).
NOTE: You only need to Add the person or resource the first time you want to view their calendar. Once you add them they will remain in the list of calendars you can view until you remove the person or resource.

  5.  Click the name of the person or resource whose calendar you want to view (see Figure 4).  The calendar opens in a new window.
NOTE: You will only be able to see information on calendars for which you have been given permission to view. If you open a calendar that you don't have permission to, you will still see the calendar, but it will be blank.
