THE BATTLE OF COMM AVE. FOR ALL THE BEANS
Archrivals Boston College and Boston University will bring the Battle of Comm Ave. to TD Garden in the Beanpot Championship for the 22nd time in tournament history on Monday night. The Eagles and Terriers have not met in the Beanpot title game in four years. The last time these two clubs met in the championship, Billy Arnold dashed BU's trophy hopes with the overtime game winner with only 6.4 seconds left on the clock. In all, Boston University holds the upper hand over the Eagles in the championship bout, 12-9, but Boston College has won the last five meeting against BU in the Beanpot Tournament. In the last meeting, BC upended BU, 3-1, in the semifinals on Feb. 3, 2014, en route to the Eagles' fifth-straight Beanpot championship. In all, Boston University leads BC on the overall Beanpot ledger, 27-15, having won 12-consecutive games over BC from 1982 to 2000. Boston College and Boston University have skated against one another 42 times out of 64 tournaments, marking 66 percent of the tournament. Out of that significant number, BC and BU have never played in the consolation game on the second Monday. The 64th Beanpot championship game is shaping up to be a good one as BC is tied for the longest unbeaten streak in the country, having gone 6-0-3 over the course of its last nine games while BU is tied with St. Cloud State for the nation's longest winning streak at five games. Jerry York is 1-0 against BU's David Quinn in Beanpot meetings. As a whole, Boston University has outscored Boston College, 75-63, in Beanpot championship games.

EAGLES IN THE BEANPOT CHAMPIONSHIP
Boston College will take part in its 35th Beanpot championship, accounting for just about 55 percent of a finals showing. The Eagles are 19-15 in Beanpot title games. They are 4-1 against Northeastern, 6-2 against Harvard and 9-12 against Boston University. From 2010 to 2014, Boston College won a school record five-straight Beanpot titles and fell just short of matching the tournament record set by the Terriers from 1995 to 2000 with six. When the Eagles won the title in 2014, Jerry York matched his coaches record, John 'Snooks' Kelley, by winning his eighth trophy. If York's club defeats BU, he will have won the most Beanpots in BC history and become the second-winningest coach in tournament history (Jack Parker won 21 titles with BU). York has also finished runner-up on six occasions and claimed third place seven times. York has never finished last in the Beanpot. All-time, York is 30-14 and is coaching in his 15th title game. In the tournament's history, Boston College has been awarded 17 MVP awards and 12 Eberly trophies.

OFFENSIVE NUGGETS

• At 10:24 of the third period, Adam Gilmour scored his seventh-career game-winning goal, helping the Eagles knock off New Hampshire, 4-3 - Gilmour is second on the team with seven game winners, two behind Ryan Fitzgerald. His three this year are tied for a team best

DAM-KO
Thatcher Demko contines to rewrite the record books at Boston College as the Eagle netminder tied the school record for shutouts in a season with eight after a 4-0 win at Notre Dame on Jan. 29. The San Diego native notched the record in just 25 games, tying Cory Schneider's record set in during the 2005-06 season. It took Schneider 37 games to capture his eight shuout. Demko's 10th shutout came in his 50th-career game. Demko is now four career shutouts (11) behind Schneider's career record of 15.  Demko's eight blankings are best in college hockey this season. Demko is currently fifth in the nation in goals against average (1.71) and  save percentage (.937) on the year and ranked first in overall shutouts with eight. For a career, the 6-foot-4 backstopper is 53-22-9 (.685) with a 2.06 goals against average and a .927 save percentage (2,203 saves on 2,377 shots). If Demko's 2.06 GAA held, it would be BC's second-best career mark all time.

COMIN' IN HOT
Boston College is tied for the second-longest unbeaten streak in college hockey heading into Monday's Beanpot title game. The Eagles are 6-0-3 over the course of nine games, tied with Air Force (6-0-3) while Quinnipiac leads with a 6-0-4 mark. BC's 2013-14 squad also went unbeaten heading into the Beanpot since the turn of the calendar with a 9-0-1 record. If the Eagles were to defeat Boston University, Jerry York will have lead his program to a 20-win season (or more) in 17 of his 22 years behind the bench. The most wins the Eagles had under a York coached team heading into the Beanpot was 21 (2000-01 and 2013-14).

THE LEGEND CONTINUES
Boston College coach Jerry York has reached the 1,000-win mark for his career in his 1,703rd game as a head coach. At the collegiate level, York is the 55th head coach to reach 1,000-career victories and the first to do so in college hockey. York remains the winningest coach in the history of the game. In his 1,000-career victories, Jerry York has defeated 69 different programs spread out through his tenures at Clarkson, Bowling Green and Boston College. The all time total goal count in Coach York's 1,000 victories is 5,421 goals for and 2,395 goals against.

BC has had a penchant for attacking quckly this season. Casey Fitzgerald scored 1:35 into the Beanpot semifinal on a feed from brother, Ryan to set the early tone.
