All students who use the BC network are required to use and maintain the anti-virus software supported by Boston College. Failure to comply will result in loss of network access. In addition, if a student's computer appears to be spreading a virus on the network, the computer's network access will be suspended.
If you are currently using non supported anti-virus software, such as Norton Home, you must uninstall it prior to installing the anti-virus software BC supports. For step-by-step instructions on uninstalling unsupported anti-virus software, and installing and maintaining anti-virus software, go to www.bc.edu/virus.

ePO is software that allows ITS to manage VirusScan Enterprise software for faculty and staff when their Windows computer is on the BC network or connected via VPN. ePO is required for all BC faculty and staff on the BC network using Windows.

Mac OS X Software
|Boston College requires Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X (10.11-10.13) computers. Faculty and staff may install Sophos on their BC-owned Apple computers and on one home computer. You will need to uninstall any other anti-virus programs you may already have, such as Norton or McAfee, before installing Sophos.
