Newton, MA--Sen. Scott Brown '85 addressed an overflow audience at the Law School on March 18. In a wide-ranging discussion, Brown touched upon his experience in the Senate, the turning point in his troubled life as a young boy, his career as an attorney, and his years at BC Law. He urged the students in the audience to get involved and become leaders, saying the current political landscape and partisanship in Washington was "deeply disturbing" to him.
Robert Giannattasio '13, President of the BC Law Republicans club and organizer of the event, introduced the Senator to the crowd. Following the talk, Brown signed copies of his bestselling book Against All Odds: My Life of Hardship, Fast Breaks, and Second Chances. The book went as high as #4 on the New York Times bestseller list.
Scott Brown is a political commentator for Fox News and a former United States Senator (MA). Prior to his Senate service, Brown was as a member of the Massachusetts General Court in the State House of Representatives (1998–2004) and in the State Senate (2004–2010).
Brown's expertise as an attorney is in real estate law, and he served as defense counsel in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Brown is a graduate of Wakefield High School (1977), Tufts University (1981), and Boston College Law School (1985).
