Alumni board member Bisrat Abebe, MSW/MA in Pastoral Ministry ’05, LICSW, has spent his career providing crisis intervention and support to individuals and families in communities, behavioral health clinics, and hospital emergency room settings. BCSSW Alumni Fulfill Prestigious Catholic Relief Services Fellowships in Africa

Two recent BC Social Work alumni were awarded Catholic Relief Services (CRS) International Development Fellowshipsdesigned to further train those individuals interested in pursuing careers in global relief. Those alumni were Ashlen Nimmo, ’16, who recently completed her 10-month fellowship in Abuja, Nigeria, and Maya Perlmann, ’17, who this August will embark upon her work in Cairo, Egypt. Read more on the Blog »

Our Alumni Newsletter will keep you informed on professional issues related to diversity, global programs, innovation, immigration, and research, as well as provide news and events from the BCSSW community.

We can help you maintain licensure and expand your expertise by continuing your education. You can help us remain the premier college of social work in New England by making a gift.

The BCCSW Alumni Board invites you to sign up for the 2017 Mentoring Program. Mentors are alumni who have graduated 2011 or earlier, and mentees are alumni who have graduated between 2012 and 2016. Quarterly email communication is expected (January, April, July, & November) with the option to have phone or in-person communication if participants wish. Quarterly check-ins, as well as articles, will be sent by the program coordinators. Some of the mentoring topics will include: mentoring relationship goals, leadership & teamwork, work-life balance, workplace challenges, and career goals. 

The program will run from January-December 2017 with the option to continue a more informal mentorship if participants wish. Please email by December 15, if you would like to participate this year.

Alumni from across the globe are invited to participate in the Mock Interviewing program taking place Wednesday-Friday, March 21-23, 2018. Mock Interviews take place in person, over the phone, or via Skype so soon-to-be graduates can practice their interviewing skills. Minimum 2 hour commitment requested.
