If you experience technical difficulties that cannot be resolved, print out and mail the forms by the application deadline to Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, Admissions Processing Center, P.O. Box 227, Randolph, MA 02368-9998.
It is recommended that you use Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer to submit the electronic application form. Do not use Google Chrome or the application will not submit successfully.
You may receive the error message "Cannot handle content type: text/html" even though your form has been received by the Admissions Office. Contact the Admissions Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-552-4024 to ensure that your forms have been submitted successfully and to receive your confirmation number. DO NOT resubmit the form.
If you are submitting your application outside the browser window, Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater is needed to work with Adobe Reader 6.0. You will not receive a confirmation screen if the application opens outside of your browser window but you should still receive a confirmation email.
If you are submitting your application inside the browser window, Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater is needed.

If you submit the forms using a Mac, you will most likely not receive a confirmation page. The GSSW application is self-managed; therefore, we do not contact applicants regarding missing application materials. Once you submit an application form, you can access the Admissions Status Website to view which materials have been received.
If you submitted a Social Security Number (SSN) on the electronic Application form, you should receive an email from Boston College containing a user name and password for you to log into the Agora Portal. Through Agora you can check the status of your application by clicking on the Application Status tab. You must choose the correct school to which you applied. If you applied to other Boston College graduate schools, you will only receive one email containing the above information.
If you did not supply an SSN or if you did not receive an email with credentials, you can access the Admissions Status Website. You will be asked to provide your assigned ID number (this is the confirmation number you received after submitting the Application online) or your SSN to check your application status.
Note: The Admissions Status Website will only work after you have submitted the Application form. If you submitted a paper application you may still access the Admissions Status Website by using your SSN.
