Michelle Morrissey | Dean of Humanities, Boston Collegiate Charter School
Michelle Morrissey began her teaching career in the New York City as a New York City Teaching Fellow. She has 12 years teaching history in urban schools, 8 years of which have been at the Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter Public School in Hyde Park. At APR, she worked as the Director of Professional Development, planning and leading professional development for teachers across the 5-12 program, as an instructional coach, and as a AP US History Teacher. She has also worked as a special educator at APR. Michelle recently began her position at Boston Collegiate Charter School. A Teach Plus Policy Fellow, she has served as a member of the Boston Foundation’s Teacher Advisory Board for 4 years, and has worked on several initiatives at DESE around assessment and teacher preparation. Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Columbia University, where she wrote her thesis on the history of school desegregation in Boston, and a master’s degree in education from Brooklyn College.
