Sarah Herman | Principal, Our Sisters' School
Sarah Herman began serving as the Head of Our Sisters' School in 2013. She grew up on the campus of Windsor Mountain International Camp (formerly known as Interlocken Camp), a very well known and successful summer camp program serving children from around the world. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, she joined Teach For America and taught in the New York City public schools for 4 years. While teaching, she earned a full scholarship to attend Bank Street College and completed her M.Ed. in elementary education in 2002. From 2002 to 2010, Sarah was director of Windsor Mountain International, where she managed both the New Hampshire summer camp and 12 international travel programs. After serving as interim principal of grades 7 to 9 at the Community Charter School of Cambridge, Sarah continued her studies at Harvard University where she earned her M.Ed. in school leadership and interned as principal at The Edison School, a Boston Public K8 school. Before joining Our Sisters' School, she worked as assistant principal at the 5th Grade Academy in Lawrence as part of the Turnaround Leadership Academy. Since 2010 Sarah has served as President of the Board of the Educational Opportunities Fund. Sarah eagerly continues her work with underserved populations at Our Sisters’ School, a school with a clear mission, a commitment to diversity and a studentcentered approach to education.
