Jamie Brown | Aspiring Principal Resident, South Boston Catholic Academy
Jamie Brown has worked at South Boston Catholic Academy for the past five years where she has taken on many different teaching and leadership positions. Most recently, she worked as a 6th grade teacher in addition to being a teacher leader for the school’s writing initiative. Professionally, Jamie has enjoyed serving on the Boston Foundation’s Teacher Advisory Board for the past three years. Through this work, Jamie saw the benefit of cross-sector collaboration and the importance of all teachers and leaders coming together. Additionally, Jamie has participated in the Instructional Rounds Network, the Achievement Network, and has been both a presenter and participant at the Summer Technology Academy. Jamie’s engagement within these different capacities has fueled her passion for school improvement with a focus on leveraging technology.
Originally a New Jersey native, she moved to Massachusetts to attend Boston College where she received a B.A. in Elementary Education/Human Development. She continued her work at Boston College where she received an M.A. in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology. Jamie also spent time in Melbourne, Australia, where she had the opportunity to teach and study abroad. After college, she worked for Boston College implementing and coordinating the International Student Teaching program, where she placed undergraduates in various teaching positions in several countries on six different continents.
